Top 10 Things you can do to clean out your pantry without waste and with the holiday spirit

  1. This holiday clean out your pantry and donate to a local shelter, soup kitchen or church.
  2. Challenge yourself to get rid of that Jiffy cornbread, Cheerios, and Little Debbie Snack cakes that you haven’t opened already. (Don’t open now) Give it to a local PTA/School for the kids.

  8. Send an email to all your friends explaining that you are remodeling your pantry and everything must go. Free to the first taker…

Gary Null discusses why you should avoid GMO's

"Today the vast majority of foods in supermarkets contain genetically modified substances whose effects on our health are unknown. As a medical doctor, I can assure you that no one in the medical profession would attempt to perform experiments on human subjects without their consent. Such conduct is illegal and unethical. Yet manufacturers of genetically altered foods are exposing us to one of the largest uncontrolled experiments in modern history.”   Martha Herbert, MD, Harvard University School of Medicine.

Just say NO!!!

On Sunday I was surprised by a dear friend with tickets to see a 4 hour seminar and screening of Chew on this with Gary Null.  Immediately upon arrival I was filled with joy because of the great positive energy in the room. At last count I was told there was over 450 people in the room old and young including the unborn. I turned to my friend and told him that now I could check off meeting Gary Null from my bucket list. Imagine my excitement when I realized that in addition to seeing and meeting him I would get to preview his new film that affirms my love, my passion of a conscious lifestyle. He like me believes that you should let food be your medicine taking your power back at every twist and turn.

Let me just say that the film was amazing it touched on many important things such as the agriculture industry's sometimes monstrous treatment of animals. It brought biotech food and its dangers to our attention inspiring us to take a stance on genetically modified organisms commonly known as GMO's. It reiterated why I choose to be a raw vegan and why we should all "honor our bodies and our minds".  I challenge each and everyone of you to watch this film and to pass it along. Host screening parties.  Take to your PTA meetings while promoting alliances in the community in order to help schools incorporate true health education.  JUST SAY NO TO GMO'S!

During his lecture he provided what he called cures for everything such as "Are we conscious of the true value of our choices?" and " what is sustainable?". He asked everyone in the audience these questions and more. He reminded us that we must make the best and most relevant choices when it comes to our bodies and our lives. He also suggested that fear of loss is equal to irrational behavior and in saying this he couldn't be more correct.

Flying high on this beautiful Sunday  I knew that I must take Goraw2day to an even greater level and to stay true to my passion. I will not let fear stagnant me and run me off the path that I created for myself. I hope you all feel the same and challenge yourself to eat and feel better everyday. Start or continue taking the steps to prevent  disease or rid you of it. Foster your will to eat raw and/or vegan in this toxic food environment we call home.  Write your representatives and ask them to implore the federal legislators to ban GMO's at least in our schools. Create a petition to have full disclosures on produce and products with GMO's. Or simply just educate someone about the dangers of eating them and the bulk of our food supply.  Most importantly get them to watch "Chew on This" and learn more about taking control of their bodies and their health.

Gary Null gives us the low down on anti-aging...

Of course genetics and environment play a part in our aging however you can contribute greatly to your youth by choosing the right foods to put in your body.  Limit cooked foods which dehydrate you and your organs by replacing it with whole organic fruits and vegetables.  You ever wonder how your body processes a raisin or any other dried fruit for that matter? Well I will tell you...it takes water from other parts of your body and puts it into the raisin essentially turning it back into a grape:) Wouldn't you rather your body keep its hydration and stay immune to the environment?  Considering that a fruit such as a watermelon is 96% or more water isn't it a better choice than a dried out grape? I think so...read Dr. Null's article on the basics and check or site for more information on this in the near future.

We all must go sometime...and my whole foods argument

I often hear "We all have to go sometime" when I tell people about my belief and passion for living foods. My answer is always the same, YES!!! We all have to go sometime but the question to ask yourself is how you want to go.  After seeing my grandmother die from complications from breast cancer and my grandfather die from complications of heart disease...I say I want to go with dignity. They both died way too young and yes they both would have left this Earth at some point but their quality of life could have been different. They could have died peacefully and unharmed in no pain perhaps if they had known what I know now.

You don't have to leave your health and your body in the hands of someone "practicing" medicine. You can let food be your medicine and administer it as you see fit and for much less money. For instance,  beets, beet greens, cabbage, cabbage sprout, cucumber, spinach and wheatgrass all help regulate blood pressure. You don't need to take a pill to get your blood pressure balanced you simply need to make the decision to put in your body.

I personally have assisted in turning around heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, liver and kidney ailments simply by implementing a plant based-whole food regimen. Why let someone else play roulette with your body? Why let someone else prescribe you a toxic pill that will cause more ailments? Why ask someone to correct an action that you have the ability to change just by changing your mindset and behavior?  We all want energy and health but we don't recognize the connection between our choices and the demise of our bodies.  Why not? We know if we don't put oil in our cars it will eventually stop running and we can't just put any old oil it has to be the right one. We know if we don't put money in our bank accounts and keep spending it will eventually run out. Why don't we know that if we constantly poison our bodies and don't replenish it with the necessary fuel it to will fail us and be of no use?

I can turn on the television everyday and see a list of side effects up to death from our prescription medications and yet to see this warning when I go to buy an apple. I challenge you all to replace your current medication with the medication called whole foods. Your body and soul will thank you for a graceful exit from this Earth instead of a terrible destructive end.
